Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Mets came back to defeat the Phillies
for the third consecutive game Wednesday, this time scoring seven straight
runs to spoil the return of Cliff Lee with a 10-6 victory in the finale of a
three-game set.
Ike Davis hit a three-run homer, Andres Torres homered, tripled and knocked in
two runs, and David Wright and Scott Hairston collected two hits and an RBI
apiece to help New York sweep Philadelphia.
Tim Byrdak (2-0) pitched a third of an inning in relief of Dillon Gee to earn
the win.
Kyle Kendrick (0-3) gave up four hits, all doubles, two walks and five runs
over an inning-plus to suffer the setback. Freddy Galvis tripled, doubled and
drove in three runs as the Phillies dropped their fifth in six tries.
Lee -- placed on the DL on April 21 after suffering a left oblique strain
during a 10-inning outing against the Giants -- was strong in his six innings
of work, allowing two runs on five hits. He was in line for the win before
Philadelphia's bullpen imploded once more.
