Peavy strong as White Sox pound Indians

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Jake Peavy threw seven strong innings and the Chicago White Sox pounded Cleveland, 8-1, at a rainy Progressive Field.

Alejandro De Aza's two-run single highlighted a six-run fourth inning, as the White Sox took the final two contests in this four-game series. Adam Dunn belted a two-run homer in the opening inning.

Peavy (4-1) allowed seven hits, a run, walked one and struck out five.

Jeanmar Gomez (2-2) was shelled for nine hits and eight runs over 6 2/3 innings.
