Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Twins have placed catcher
Ryan Doumit on the 15-day disabled list with a right calf strain.
The first-year Twin is batting .264 in 33 games with five home runs and a
team-leading 24 RBI.
Doumit had spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Pirates before signing
with Minnesota last November.
The veteran backstop has dealt with a litany of injuries in the past,
including a left ankle sprain that limited him to 77 games last season.
To replace Doumit on the 25-man roster, the Twins recalled outfielder Ben
Revere from Triple-A Rochester. Revere started the season with the Twins,
hitting .278 in six games. He was batting .330 in the minors at the time of
his promotion.
