Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Oakland Athletics third baseman Brandon Inge
was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday because of a strained right
groin.
The move is retroactive to May 13.
Inge, who has not played since May 12 against Detroit, has batted .227 with
four homers and 17 runs batted in over 11 games since signing with Oakland as
a free agent on April 30.
The 34-year-old veteran was released by the Tigers just four days earlier
after batting only .100 in nine games. He had spent his entire career with
Tigers, making his big league debut with the club in 2001.
Oakland recalled infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A Sacramento to fill the
roster spot. Rosales was on the big league roster to start the season and
appeared in one game as a defensive replacement during Oakland's season-
opening two-game set in Japan. He was sent to the minors April 2.
In 36 games at Sacramento, Rosales was batting .277 with two homers and 19
runs batted in.
