Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers activated left-hander Drew
Smyly from the 15-day disabled in time to make Tuesday's start against the
Rangers.
Smyly had been sidelined since June 11 with a blister on the middle finger
of his pitching hand. The rookie, who turned 23 earlier this month, is 2-2
with a 3.96 ERA in 12 starts this year.
The make room on the roster, the Tigers optioned Jacob Turner back to Triple-A
Toledo. Turner made one spot start in Smyly's absence and did not receive a
decision after allowing one run in a five-inning start against the Cardinals.
