Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Ryan Braun homered in back-to-back innings on
Saturday and the Brewers coasted to a 10-2 rout of the Diamondbacks.
Braun hit a solo shot in the third, then belted a two-run blast an inning
later. Cody Ransom added a three-run homer in the fourth for Milwaukee, which
had lost five of seven coming in, including the opener of this three-game
series on Friday.
The Diamondbacks' bats were hot in the opener, but rookie Mike Fiers (3-2)
silenced them on Saturday, tossing six shutout innings with a career-high 10
strikeouts. It marked the righty's second straight start without allowing a
run.
Miguel Montero hit a ninth inning homer for the Diamondbacks while Gerardo
Parra added an RBI in the eighth. Aaron Hill, who hit for his second cycle of
June on Friday, went 1-for-4.
Wade Miley (9-4) took the loss, giving up eight runs on eight hits in 3 2/3
innings. He had allowed just one run in each of his previous four outings.
