San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - The San Francisco Giants placed infielder
Pablo Sandoval on the 15-day disabled list and activated first baseman Aubrey
Huff from the DL on Saturday.
Sandoval, who is batting .299 with eight homers and 33 RBI in 62 games this
season, has a strained left hamstring.
Huff had been on the DL since mid-June as he suffered a sprained right knee
while celebrating Matt Cain's perfect game against the Astros on June 13. He
was batting just .155 with one homer and five RBI in 32 games prior to the
injury.
Marco Scutaro, who was acquired from the Rockies on Friday started at third
base for the Giants on Saturday.
The team designated infielder Emmanuel Burriss for assignment in order to make
room for Scutaro on the active roster. He is hitting .214 with six RBI in 52
games for San Francisco this season.
