San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres have recalled catcher
Nick Hundley from Triple-A Tucson and optioned catcher Eddy Rodriguez to the
same club.
Hundley is hitting .166 with three homers and 22 RBI in 55 games for the
Padres this season. He heads back to the big leagues after being optioned to
Tucson on June 30.
Rodriguez, who was selected from Single-A Lake Elsinore on July 31, played in
two games during his first stint in the majors. He hit a home run in his first
career at-bat against the Reds last Thursday, becoming just the second Padre
in club history to hit a home run in his first MLB at-bat.
