Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox reinstated first
baseman Paul Konerko from the seven-day disabled list, one of several roster
moves made by the club on Friday.
Chicago also placed infielder Orlando Hudson on the 15-day disabled list,
retroactive to August 16, with a contusion of the right metatarsal joint in
his right foot, placed pitcher Leyson Septimo on the 15-day DL, retroactive to
August 14, with left biceps inflammation and recalled pitcher Hector Santiago
from Triple-A Charlotte.
Konerko, who has been sidelined since August 10 with a concussion, has a .316
average with 17 doubles, 18 homers and 54 runs batted in over 101 games this
year.
Hudson was hitting .182 with three doubles, two triples, a home run and 11 RBI
through 36 games for the White Sox.
Septimo has an 0-2 record with a 6.00 earned run average in 12 relief
appearance during his rookie season.
Santiago pitched to a 2-1 record with four saves and a 3.66 ERA in 32
appearances out of the bullpen for Chicago this season.
