Port St. Lucie, FL (Sports Network) - Lucas Duda's fourth home run of the
spring broke a tie game in the seventh inning and sent the New York Mets to a
3-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Travis d'Arnaud provided an insurance run in the eighth with an RBI single and
Zach Lutz plated New York's other run. Rafael Montero struck out three over 4
2/3 scoreless innings of work and Brandon Lyon locked down the save in the
ninth.
Francisco Soriano had an RBI single to plate Washington's only run. Starter
Gio Gonzalez was strong over six innings, surrendering four hits and one run
while striking out three.
