Distracted Rays fan narrowly escapes line drive

(USA TODAY) -- Two men in the front row at the Tampa Bay Rays' matchup against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday decided not to pay any attention to the baseball game happening like 20 feet away from them, and nearly hurt themselves in the process.

Baltimore's Steve Pearce ripped a line drive straight toward them. Everyone else in the section, and several players in the Orioles' dugout below, sensibly jumped out of the way. But these two dudes were so caught up in looking down that they didn't even move:

Somehow, the ball split the uprights of their distracted heads, catching one guy on the shoulder but doing nowhere near the damage it might have if it were a few inches to either side.

You have your phone on you all the time, bro. You're not always sitting in the front row at a ballpark. It's probably worth checking out the baseball game in front of you, both for your entertainment and your personal safety.
