Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Utah Jazz assistant coach Scott
Layden left his position with the team on Wednesday and will take over as
assistant general manager for the San Antonio Spurs.
Layden began his career with the Jazz in 1981 as an administrative assistant
and scout before moving up to an assistant coach in 1982. He then took over as
Utah's director of player personnel and ultimately became the team's vice
president in 1996.
In 1999, Layden took over as general manager of the New York Knicks for the
1999-2000 season and later became team president before rejoining the Jazz in
2005 as an assistant coach.
