Jersey City, NJ (Sports Network) - Robert Olson went 5-of-6 from three-point
range on his way to 19 points to lead the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds to a
66-55 victory over the Saint Peter's Peacocks in a Metro Atlantic Athletic
Conference bout at the Yanitelli Center.
Erik Etherly contributed 15 points and nine rebounds for Loyola (18-5, 11-2
MAAC) as it won its sixth in a row. Shane Walker added 14 points and swiped
five steals.
Lamin Fulton recorded a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds for Saint
Peter's (5-19, 4-9). Gaetano Spera chipped in 10 points off the bench for the
Peacocks.
Loyola took a 32-23 lead into halftime after it shot 44.4 percent from the
field and connected on 4-of-9 from beyond the arc in the opening period. The
Peacocks made only 32 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half.
Saint Peter's improved after the break and hit on 44 percent of its field
goals in the second half, but the Greyhounds went 5-of-10 from three-point
range over the final 20 minutes to stay in front.
The Peacocks committed 19 turnovers in the contest.
