Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Kendrick Perry finished 28 points, seven
steals, and six assists to lead the Youngstown State Penguins past the Loyola-
Chicago Ramblers in a Horizon League affair at Gentile Arena.
Blake Allen added 19 points for YSU (13-10, 8-5 HL) while Damian Eargle scored
12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Ashen Ward got into the mix as well as he
netted 11 points.
Walt Gibler paced Loyola (5-18, 0-13) with 18 points as it lost for the 11th
time in a row. Jordan Hicks contributed 16 points and six rebounds in the
losing effort.
YSU took a 37-30 advantage into halftime after it shot 60 percent from the
floor and scored 18 points off of turnovers in the first period. The Ramblers
stayed close after they pulled down 12 offensive rebounds in the opening half.
The Penguins continued their hot shooting after the break, as they made 65.5
percent of their field goals in the final 20 minutes.
YSU set new season-highs with its 63.3 percent shooting from the floor and
56.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
