Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Five players scored in double figures for
the Butler Bulldogs, led by Rotnei Clarke and Kellen Dunham with 17 points
apiece, as they defeated the IUPUI Jaguars, 87-55, in a one-sided affair at
Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Clarke was 4-of-6 from three-point range while Dunham was 3-of-5 beyond the
arc for the Bulldogs (6-2). Andrew Smith (11 points), Khyle Marshall (10), and
Erik Fromm (10) were the other three players to score in double digits as
Butler posted a third straight win.
For the Jaguars (3-7), Donovan Gibbs and Mitchell Patton both scored 10 points
as the team suffered a third straight defeat. Gibbs also pulled down six
rebounds and dished out three assists.
Butler took a 52-21 lead into halftime after knocking down nine three-pointers
and shooting 60.0 percent from the field.
In the second half the Bulldogs outscored IUPUI 35-34 while shooting 50.0
percent from the field.
The Bulldogs, who made good on 11-of-21 shots beyond the arc, scored 22 points
off 19 turnovers by the Jaguars.
