Villanova, PA (Sports Network) - Scootie Randall scored a game-high 21 points
and pulled down seven rebounds for the Temple Owls as they defeated the
Villanova Wildcats, 76-61, in Big 5 action at the Pavilion.
Also scoring in double figures for the Owls (6-0), as they remained
undefeated, were Anthony Lee and Khalif Wyatt with 16 and 13 points,
respectively.
The Wildcats (4-4) were paced by James Bell with 15 points and Tony Chennault
with 10 off the bench as they suffered a fourth loss in the last five outings.
Temple struggled in the first half, shooting just 32.4 percent from the floor,
including 5-of-17 beyond the arc, all while the Wildcats were converting 51.9
percent from the field in order to take a 36-32 lead at the break.
In the second half the tables turned as Villanova made a total of just seven
field goals and the Owls connected on 55.6 percent from the floor in order to
surge ahead and claim the 15-point win.
Villanova knocked down just 5-of-15 from three-point range and turned the ball
over 20 times on the night.
The win for the Owls was their first at the Pavilion in more than two decades.
