Murray, KY (Sports Network) - Ed Daniel recorded a double-double with a game-
high 18 points as the Murray State Racers cruised by the Tennessee State
Tigers, 69-48, in Ohio Valley Conference play at the CFSB Center.
Daniel contributed 10 rebounds and six blocks in the Racers' (18-5, 9-2 OVC)
victory. Brandon Garrett also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10
boards. Isaiah Canaan added 16 points and three steals as Murray State notched
its third win in as many games.
For the Tigers (14-11, 8-4), Robert Covington recorded a double-double with 11
points and 12 rebounds. Kellen Thornton was one board shy of a double-double
with 12 points. Patrick Miller also added 12 points as Tennessee State snapped
a two-game winning streak.
Tennessee State struggled shooting, managing to sink a meager 7-of-31 from the
floor including 3-of-10 beyond the arc. Murray State made 12-of-25 field goals
en route to a 32-23 advantage at the break.
The Tigers continued to struggle shooting after the break, making 10-of-28
from the floor and 0-of-5 from long range. Murray State made 17-of-20 foul
shots as it too a 37-25 advantage in the second half.
Murray State forced 19 turnovers and outscored Tennessee State, 24-6, in
points off miscues.
