Cookeville, TN (Sports Network) - Jud Dillard recorded a double-double with 18
points and 10 rebounds as the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles defeated the
Jacksonville State Gamecocks, 78-64, in Ohio Valley Conference action at the
Eblen Center.
Dennis Ogbe also scored 18 points in the Golden Eagles' (9-14, 3-8 OVC)
victory. Jeremia Samarrippas contributed 15 points, and Javon McKay chipped in
10 points as TTU snapped a two-game losing streak.
For the Gamecocks (15-8, 7-5), Brian Williams scored a game-high 22 points
and added four assists. Tarvin Gaines netted 15 points off the bench for
JSU, which had won its previous three games.
Both teams made 10 field goals and two 3-pointers in the first half. TTU made
three foul shots compared to JSU's two, as it took a 25-24 advantage at the
break.
TTU pulled away after intermission by draining 54.5 percent of its field goal
attempts and shooting 27-of-30 from the foul line.
TTU dominated the glass, 36-19, and outscored JSU from the free-throw line,
30-5.
