Portland, OR (Sports Network) - Michael Harthun scored 15 points and Aaron
Moore just missed a double-double as the Portland State Vikings earned a 66-58
victory over the UC Riverside Highlanders in a BracketBusters challenge at the
Sott Center.
Moore had 13 points and nine rebounds and Gary Winston tacked on 10 points for
Portland State (8-16) which has won three straight.
Chris Patton had a game-high 22 points and Josh Fox managed a 10-point,
12-rebound double-double for UC Riverisde (6-21) which has lost eight
straight.
Portland State took a 33-26 lead into the break by shooting an even 50 percent
from the floor while UC Riverisde shot just 37 percent.
Though the Highlanders shot 51.9 percent from the field in the final 20
minutes they missed all six attempts from beyond the arc and were outscored
13-4 from the free-throw line.
Portland State had an 18-6 edge in points from 3-point range and a 18-8
advantage from the charity stripe.
