Providence, RI (Sports Network) - Matt Sullivan scored 16 points to lead the
Brown Bears of the Dartmouth Big Green, 59-50, at the Pizzotola Sports Center
in an Ivy League showdown.
Sullivan knocked down three 3-pointers for Brown (9-14, 3-6 Ivy), which broke
out of a two-game slump. Sean McGonagill scored 13 points with seven assists
and Tucker Halpern added 12 points with three 3-pointers of his own. Rafael
Maia was a beast on the boards, pulling down 13 rebounds.
Dartmouth (6-17, 2-7) was led by Tyler Melville who scored 14 points as the
Big Green suffered its fifth consecutive loss. Melville was the only
player to score in double-figures while Gabas Maldunas led the team with
nine rebounds and three blocks.
Brown led 34-25 at halftime after holding Dartmouth to just 37.0 percent
shooting from the field.
The second half was split 25-25 after both teams shot below 40.0 percent from
the floor.
The Big Green shot just 35.7 percent from the field while Brown shot 41.8
percent from the floor and made eight 3-pointers.
