Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Kyle Tresnak led all scorers with 20 points as
the Weber State Wildcats used a second-half comeback to topple the Oral
Roberts Golden Eagles, 70-66, as part of the annual BracketBusters event at
the Mabee Center.
Scott Bamforth (16 points) and Jordan Richardson (12 points) each drained four
3-pointers for Weber State (20-5), which has won seven straight games. Frank
Otis chipped in 11 points, while Davion Berry dished out seven assists for the
visitors.
For Oral Roberts (17-11), Shawn Glover scored 16 points, Warren Niles and
Damen Bell-Holter netted 13 points apiece and Steven Roundtree poured in 12
points off the bench. The setback for the Golden Eagles snapped a three-game
winning streak.
Oral Roberts carried a 36-29 lead into intermission after it outshot Weber
State from the field in the opening 20 minutes, 56 percent to 42.3 percent.
The Golden Eagles led by five early in the second half before the Wildcats
ripped off an 11-0 run to take a 48-42 lead with 12:19 left in the game. Oral
Roberts responded with a 7-0 run of its own, but Weber State took the lead for
good on its ensuing 13-4 spurt.
While Weber State knocked down 9-of-17 from 3-point range on the night, Oral
Roberts was just 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.
