Stony Brook, NY (Sports Network) - Stony Brook will travel to FBS programs
Syracuse and Army and play six home games as part of its 2012 football
schedule.
It will be the second straight year Stony Brook has scheduled two FBS
opponents. The Seawolves will visit Syracuse on Sept. 15 and Army on Sept. 29.
"They're both great gets for Stony Brook," football coach Chuck Priore said.
"They're schools we want to identify with and compete against."
Stony Brook, coming off its first outright Big South Conference championship,
will play three of its first four games at home against non-conference
opponents, Central Connecticut State (Sept. 1), Division II Pace (Sept. 8) and
Colgate (Sept. 22).
The Seawolves also will host conference foes Charleston Southern (Oct. 6),
Gardner-Webb (Oct. 20) and VMI (Nov. 3).
Their other Big South games will be at Coastal Carolina (Oct. 13),
Presbyterian (Oct. 27) and Liberty (Nov. 10).
