Valparaiso, IN (Sports Network) - Valparaiso football will play six home games
for the first time in four years as part of an 11-game 2012 schedule announced
on Thursday.
The Crusaders will kick off their season on Thursday, Aug. 30 by hosting
longtime Northwest Indiana rival Saint Joseph's at Brown Field.
Coach Dale Carlson's squad also will host Duquesne (Sept. 15) in non-
conference action as well as Pioneer Football League opponents Butler (Oct.
6), Drake (Oct. 13), Marist (Oct. 27) and Davidson (Nov. 10).
Valparaiso will play a non-conference road game at Youngstown State (Sept. 8)
and travel to conference opponents San Diego (Sept. 22), Dayton (Oct. 20),
Campbell (Nov. 3) and Morehead State (Nov. 17).
The Crusaders finished 1-10 last season, but snapped a 29-game losing streak.
