Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers signed 2012 draft
picks Maurice Harkless and Arnett Moultrie on Tuesday.
Harkless, the 15th overall choice, was named the Big East rookie of the year
last season while averaging 15.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4
blocks over 32 games for St. John's.
He was the first member of the Red Storm to be selected in the draft since
2001.
The Sixers acquired the rights to Moultrie from the Miami Heat in exchange for
the draft rights to Justin Hamilton and a protected future first round pick.
Moultrie was the 27th overall pick last month, while Hamilton was the 45th
selection.
Moultrie averaged 16.4 points and 10.5 rebounds over 30 games as a junior for
Mississippi State last season. He led the SEC in rebounding.
