Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Linebacker Keith Bulluck announced his retirement from the NFL Friday as a member of the Tennessee Titans

Bullock, who is the franchise's third-leading tackler, spent the first 10 years of his career (2000-09) with the Titans after the team selected him with the 30th overall pick in the 2000 draft out of Syracuse.

He then spent the 2010 season with the New York Giants.

"I would like to thank my entire football family, starting with Syracuse University, the New York Giants and all my Tennessee Titan teammates, coaches, the entire organization and all the staff members I've ever had the pleasure of working with," said Bulluck. "Most of all I want to thank the city and the community of Nashville for supporting me and my teammates during my 10 years with the Titans."

The durable Bulluck missed just three games during his tenure with the Titans and earned his lone Pro Bowl appearance with the team following the 2003 season, totaling 135 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions.

Over 170 career games with Tennessee and New York, Bulluck amassed 1,069 tackles, 18 sacks, 21 interceptions and six touchdowns.

"I have been fortunate enough to be associated with this organization for more than 30 years, and it is not very often that a Keith Bulluck comes through an organization," Titans head coach Mike Munchak said. "I saw every snap that he took in practice and in games and saw him grow from a talented first-round selection into a leader on our defense. He made plays when we needed them and spoke up at the moments that he needed to speak up. He was a consistent player who showed up to practice every day and every Sunday. That is what pros do, and he showed others the way."
