Foxboro, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots signed free-agent tackle Will Svitek on Monday.

The Stanford product, who was born in the Czech Republic but raised in California, played in 16 games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2011, starting 10. He was felled for the entire 2012 season with a right arm injury suffered in training camp.

Since breaking into the NFL in 2005, Svitek has made 61 appearances (16 starts) for Kansas City (2005-07) and Atlanta (2009-12).
