Bucs sign WR Louis Murphy from St. Pete

TAMPA, Florida -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free agent receiver Louis Murphy.

Murphy spent for the first three years of his career with the Oakland Raiders after being selected in the fourth round of the 2009 draft. He was traded to Carolina in 2012 and played for the New York Giants last season.

In 71 career games, including 24 starts, Murphy has 121 receptions for 1,744 yards and eight touchdowns. He's also rushed 14 times for 146 yards and one TD.

Murphy played his prep football at Lakewood HS in St. Pete. Then played for the Florida Gators.

The Bucs announced the signing Wednesday.
