Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Patrick Kane had two goals and an assist as
the Chicago Blackhawks pounded the Phoenix Coyotes, 6-2, on Thursday.
Jonathan Toews, Viktor Stalberg and Bryan Bickell each posted a goal and an
assist while Patrick Sharp added three assists for the Blackhawks, who won a
third straight game and have notched at least a point in all 11 games this
season. Ray Emery made 22 stops in the win.
Martin Hanzal and Raffi Torres scored for the Coyotes, who had won their
previous two coming into the game. Mike Smith was pulled in the second
period after giving up all six goals on 22 shots. Jason LaBarbera turned away
all 11 shots he faced.
This was the first time that Torres and Marian Hossa played in the same game
since last spring when Torres launched himself into the air and drilled Hossa
with a shoulder to the head in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals.
Phoenix wound up winning that series in six games, but Torres was handed a 25-
game suspension that was later reduced to 21 games as he made his season debut
on Feb. 4.
