Matt Bush appears in court Monday, April 23 2012.
Punta Gorda, Florida -- The lawyer for the Tampa Bay Rays pitcher arrested after he allegedly hit a motorcyclist and left the scene of the accident asked a judge to lower his $1 million bail on Monday.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Matt Bush kept driving after hitting a motorcycle last month, seriously injuring 72-year-old Anthony Tufano. Bush remains in custody on multiple DUI-related charges and counts of leaving the scene of an injury accident and driving with a suspended license.
On Monday, Bush testified before a judge that he had no money and wanted his bond lowered. Prosecutors argued Bush could be a flight risk if he is released.
The judge said he wanted time to review the information presented in court, and recessed the motion until Thursday morning.
