Tampa, FL-- Head coach Greg Schiano stressed detail and tempo, in the Bucs' first mini-camp practice of the year.
Because they have a new coach, the Bucs get a an extra mini-camp, per terms of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Schiano put the Bucs through a 2 and a half hour workout on Tuesday. It was up-tempo, and filled with sounds of the new coaches coaching. Schiano was very energetic, bouncing around the field from player to player, from group to group.
"If you want them to come out of that first practice with one thing, you want them to understand the tempo with which you practice," Schiano said after the workout. "And the attention to detail that's required to play this game effectively... The schemes will come... We have time, although not a lot of it... But that will happen over time, as we rep it and learn it... Rep it and learn it... Rep it and learn it."
The Bucs will practice again Wednesday and Thursday. The practices are closed to the public and the media.
