Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin
Multiple media outlets are reporting that Buccaneers running back Doug Martin will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his labrum in Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Martin was hit while trying to make a catch near the goal line in the second half of the game. He landed on his left elbow and immediately grabbed his arm in pain. Trainers tended to Martin on the field before helping him to the bench. He did not return to the game.
Martin had an incredible rookie season in 2012 when he rushed for 1,454 yards and 12 touchdowns. He made the Pro Bowl. This season he has been the focal point for defenses and has only scored one touchdown. He's been limited to just 456 yards on 127 carries.
10 News reached out to the Buccaneers to confirm Martin's injury status but the team does not comment on reported injuries. Head coach Greg Schiano will have a scheduled media interview session at 2:30 Monday afternoon.
