McCown started eight games last season for the Chicago Bears, completing 149 of 224 passes with 13 touchdowns to just one interception. The 34-year old, who is set to turn 35 prior to the 2014 season, spent two years in Chicago, primarily as the backup. During Jay Cutler's absence, McCown started five games last season with a 66.5 passing percentage.

The deal -- unconfirmed by the Buccaneers as of yet -- is reported to be two years for a total of $10 million according to NFL Network.

McCown is anticipated to challenge second year quarterback Mike Glennon for the Buccaneers starting quarterback role.

McCown's brother Luke was a Bucs backup quarterback from 2007-08.
