Bridgeview, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Fire announced Wednesday that it
has signed Kheli Dube after selecting the Zimbabwean striker in the 2011 MLS
Re-Entry Draft.
Dube, 28, was left unprotected by the New England Revolution and became
Chicago's only selection the Re-Entry Draft. He is the fifth player signed by
the Fire this offseason.
"Kheli has been an offensive threat since he came into the league," said Fire
head coach Frank Klopas. "He's a gritty, hard working striker that plays for
the badge. Since joining us in preseason Kheli has shown his desire to be part
of our club."
Per league and club policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
