Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The U.S. women's national team will face Canada
on June 30 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah in its final home match before
the 2012 London Olympic Games, it was announced Thursday.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (ET) as the North American rivals meet for the 51st
time. Canada also qualified for the Olympics from CONCACAF.
The United States is ranked No. 1 in the world, despite a defeat to Japan last
month and a draw against the reigning World Cup champions this month. Canada
is ranked seventh in the world.
The Americans also have a match against China scheduled before the Olympics on
May 27 at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. The United States has 10 wins, a loss and a
draw so far this year.
The Sports Network
