Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Galaxy announced on Monday
that the club will take part in the 2012 World Football Challenge along with
European heavyweights Real Madrid, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
English sides Chelsea and Liverpool had already committed to the event as well
as both Toronto FC and Seattle Sounders FC from MLS.
The competition takes place from July 18 through August 11 and will feature
the first-ever soccer match at the new Yankee Stadium on July 22 between
Chelsea and PSG.
Chelsea will also visit Seattle to take on the Sounders as well as a match
against AC Milan in Miami.
Toronto FC will host Liverpool on July 21 while the Galaxy will entertain Real
Madrid on Aug. 2.
Additional matches will be announced in the coming weeks.
