Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - FC Dallas was left searching for positives after a 2-1 loss to the Houston Dynamo that extended the Hoops' winless streak to 10 games.

After conceding an early goal, Dallas equalized just before the half-hour mark through Jackson, but then had Jair Benitez sent off four minutes later and let in a goal to Adam Moffat to leave the game without a point.

Dallas manager Schellas Hyndman has seen his side play with 10 men far too often this season, and he wasn't sure after the match that Houston would have won without the benefit of the red card.

"I don't know that Houston could've beaten us if we weren't down a man, but we sure as hell made it hard on ourselves again," said Hyndman after the game. "A very disappointing part. Give Houston a lot of credit, they found a way to win the game."

Hyndman has tried to remain positive during this rough patch for the club, but Dallas will be hoping to avoid setting a new team record for most games without a win when Chivas USA visits FC Dallas Stadium on Saturday.

Dallas has dropped to the bottom of the Western Conference after claiming only one point from its last seven matches, but midfielder Daniel Hernandez still found reasons for optimism despite the loss.

"Definitely on the possession side I thought we did a great job especially in the first half," said Hernandez of the team's performance. "Obviously the second half was a little different after the red card, but even after the red card we were still pushing up and had a few chances to score."

Chivas moved five points clear of Dallas after Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Montreal Impact as Juan Pablo Angel scored in the last 10 minutes to give the Goats all three points.

And the result was all the more satisfying after a humbling 3-0 defeat to Real Salt Lake the previous match.

"We saw intelligent work; we saw good decisions with the ball which are things that you have to do," said Chivas head coach Robin Fraser. "We talked about execution on Saturday night and I thought how we executed in the last 10 minutes of the game or so were definitely a step forward for us. I thought our decisions on the ball were good, our work rate was not to be questioned and I was very proud with the way that we finished the half."
