New York, NY (Sports Network) - San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski
ended the regular season with 27 goals to claim the 2012 Budweiser Golden
Boot, which is given to the top scorer in MLS at the end of each regular
season.
Wondolowski becomes the first player in MLS history to lead the league in
goals for three successive seasons, and his 27 this campaign tie the MLS
record set by Roy Lassiter in 1996.
Since the beginning of his MLS career in 2005, Wondolowski has tallied 68
goals, although 64 of those have come since the 2009 season.
