Lakeland, FL-- The Tampa Prep boys basketball team came up short in the 2A state championship game.  Jacksonville Providence dominated the Terrapins, 63-46.

Providence is ranked #1 in Florida, and 15th in the nation.  Their 6'9" power forward, Patric Young, led the way with 13 points.  He'll play college basketball at Florida.  Their 6'1" guard, Stacey Poole, is signed to play at Kentucky.  They shot 57% from the field.

The Terrapins finished their season 25-5, and ranked 5th in the 2A state poll.  Head Coach Joe Fenlon was gracious in defeat.

"I told the kids multiple times today, that as long as they worked their hardest... they played and they fought and they scratched... there would be no regrets.  We did everything we could do.  We just ran into a team that was better than us."
