Estoril, Portugal (Sports Network) - Top seed and defending champion Juan
Martin del Potro and second-seeded Frenchman Richard Gasquet were semifinal
winners Saturday at the $525,000 Estoril Open tennis event.
The former U.S. Open champ del Potro battled past third-seeded Swiss Stanislas
Wawrinka 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, while Gasquet, an Estoril finalist in 2007, rallied
to beat fourth-seeded Spaniard Albert Ramos 2-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-5.
Del Potro will be appearing in his third final this year. He captured his 10th
career title in Marseille and was a runner-up in Rotterdam.
Gasquet is seeking his seventh career championship and first since he titled
in Nice in May 2010.
Del Potro is 3-1 lifetime against Gasquet.
The winner of this clay-court French Open tune-up will claim $95,000.
