(USA TODAY) Are you excited for the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl?

The first trailer for the dark David Fincher film hit the Web on Monday, with Rosamund Pike playing Amy Dunne and Ben Affleck as her husband, Nick.

Gone Girl tells the story of the disappearance of Amy on the couple's fifth anniversary, with suspicion slowly creeping over to Nick.

A revamped version of Charles Aznavour's She plays in the trailer, a song last made famous by Elvis Costello in the romantic comedy Notting Hill. A far eerier version was recorded for Gone Girl by Richard Butler from Psychedelic Furs.

"I did not kill my wife," insists a voice in the trailer as murky footage rolls of Dunne floating underwater. "I am not a murderer."

Gone Girl hits theaters on Oct. 3.
