(USA TODAY) Fox has cancelled three comedies, clearing its slate of some marginal series as it prepares to unveil its fall schedule Monday after a tough season.

Dads, Enlisted and mid-season's Surviving Jack won't survive past their freshman seasons.

The exits were all expected, though Dads was clinging to life thanks because of close ties to Fox's sibling studio, 20th Century Fox Television, and producer Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy). But the series, about two pals whose fathers move in, never caught on and was savaged by critics.

Enlisted starred Geoff Stults as one of three brothers on a Florida Army base, and Survivng Jack starred Christopher Meloni as a tough dad in the 1990s.

The cancellations confirm the fate of all of Fox's in-limbo series. Last week, the network axed sci-fi drama Almost Human.
