The suit, adorned with "rhinestone and gold lame detailing," is one of dozens of rock and roll memorabilia in a Sotheby's auction entitled, "A Rock & Roll History: Presley to Punk."
The items for sale read like a best-of playlist: Bob Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone manuscript, the Beatles' first American album, Meet the Beatles, signed to George Harrison's sister, and a sheet of paper with a lyric from Joni Mitchell's song Big Yellow Taxi.
Other items include John Lennon's upright piano and Jimi Hendrix's first contract in 1965 for $1. Each could fetch as much as $200,000.
The sale also includes photographs and instruments.
