(USA TODAY) Very few people can upstage Beyoncé. But her daughter Blue Ivy did just that at the end of the VMA Awards on Sunday night, as her mom closed out the show with a power medley before accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
As Queen Bey slayed onstage, jumping from track to track from her self-titled album, the camera cut away to the toddler, balanced on dad Jay Z's lap.
After the performance, Jay Z and Blue joined an emotional Beyoncé onstage.
"Yeah, Mommy," Blue said into the microphone, melting the heart of every person ever.
Jay presented her with the award. "The recipient of the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, and the greatest living entertainer: Beyoncé," he said, handing the trophy to his wife. While the pair, who just completed their U.S. On the Run tour dates together, have been rumored to be going through a tough patch in their marriage, there wasn't a hint of it onstage.

In a powerful and emotional performance, Beyonce rocks the MTV Awards. Joel Flynn reports.
"I have nothing to say but I'm filled with so much gratitude," Bey said, holding back tears. "I just thank God for this moment. I love y'all so much."
She continued: "Blue, I love you. My beloved, I love you. My fans, I love you. MTV, I love you. Goodnight!"
That's how you close a show.
