(USA TODAY) By now you probably know that Miley Cyrus, in an attempt to shine a light on homeless youth, brought a homeless man to Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards to accept the award for best video of the year on her behalf.
But it turns out that Jesse Helt, the homeless man in question, is in a bit of trouble with the law. The Statesman Journal reports that Helt has a warrant out for his arrest for repeatedly violating his probation in Oregon.
According to court records, Helt was arrested in 2010 for attempting to break into an apartment in Salem. He was charged with criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
A young homeless man who accepted Miley Cyrus' top prize at the MTV Video Music Awards on her behalf is wanted by police in his home state of Oregon. Joel Flynn reports.
The documents state that he violated his probation more than once, including failure to take a drug test, marijuana use, failure to report to his probation officer, breach of curfew and incomplete community service hours.
