Kennedy Space Center, Florida -- We got an up-close look at the giant jet that will carry Space Shuttle Discovery to the Smithsonian in Washington next week.

Reporter Grayson Kamm joined 10 News at 9 live from the runway at the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday morning.

Filling the rest of the TV screen was the giant plane that's going to make history next week.

It's the huge 747 jumbo jet that's been converted to carry the space shuttle on its back.

On Tuesday, it's going to fly Space Shuttle Discovery out of Florida forever and take it to a branch of the Smithsonian Institution just outside Washington, DC.
