AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A fire did significant damage to a call center in Augusta.

It broke out around 5 a.m. on Thursday at Marketing Unlimited on Western Ave.

The business was closed and no workers were there, but the building also includes a residential apartment. The person who lives there got out safely and is staying with relatives.

Firefighters tell us they got the fire under control in about an hour, but theyremained on scene well afterward, cleaning up hot spots.

Chief Roger Audette says the damage was bad enough that he wouldn't be surprised if parts of the building had to be torn down.

The fire marshal's office and city investigators are working together to learn more about what happened.
