PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Firefighters were called to 129 Grant Street around 3:15 Wednesday afternoon.

When crews arrived, they found fire in a third floor apartment and attic space. All of the residents of the nineteen apartments in the building evacuated safely. Firefighters put the fire out in less than an hour. Portland Fire Chief JeromeLamoria saysat least fortypeople will at least be temporarily displaced. The Red Cross is assisting the victims.
