Port Charlotte, Florida (News-Press) -- A North Port woman was arrested Tuesday for reportedly trying to deposit a $9,719 counterfeit U.S. Treasury check into her newly opened checking account in Port Charlotte.
Kaylee Liana Sanchez, 28, faces six charges related to the incident.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office received a call from Regions Bank at 24153 Peachland Boulevard in reference to a fraud complaint. Deputies responded and placed Sanchez under arrest for providing a false Florida driver's license and resisting arrest.
