Wimauma, Florida -- Deputies found a man, wanted in connection with a Tampa murder, in Ocala while taking a bus to Mexico.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Candelario Herrera-Vazquez, of Tampa, fought with his roommate on Saturday,July 21 around2 a.m.

Nine hours later, detectives were called out to the apartment, after one of the five people who lives there, found the man's bodyin a locked bedroom when he didn'topen the door.

Investigators say the man suffered trauma to hisupper body.

During the course of the investigation, detectives say they learned that VazquezleftTampa and went toSarasota County where hedumped a machete they believe was the murder weaponin a public trash can.

Investigators say Vazquezthen purchased a bus ticket to Mexico and boarded a bus in Wimauma with one stop in Ocala. On July 22, the Marion County Sheriff's Office was contacted and dispatched deputies to pick up Vazquezwho detained himuntil Hillsborough detectives could arrive in Ocala.

He has been charged with First Degree Murder.
