Clearwater Beach, Florida - A stolen car with suspicious items inside prompted police to call the Tampa Bomb Squad to a south beach motel Thursday.

The car was reported stolen out of Pasco County, police said, and had what was later determined to be unusual electrical equipment inside.

The incident began around 8 a.m. at the Golden Villa Motel on Hamden Drive. Seven hotel rooms in the vicinity were evacuated as a precaution, and traffic was blocked at a point between Brightwater Drive and First Street.

People were allowed to return once the bomb squad determined there was no threat, police said.
